Hardscaping & Paver Installation in the Forgotten Coast

Published on September 21, 2026

When most people hear the name Joe’s Custom Lawn, landscaping is probably the first thing that comes to mind.

And while landscaping is a huge part of what we do, over the years our projects have grown into much more than planting shrubs and laying sod.

Today, our team handles complete outdoor transformations—including paver patios, driveways, walkways, fire pit areas, landscape lighting, irrigation, drainage, and custom hardscaping throughout Port St. Joe and the surrounding area.

For us, it all goes together.

A beautiful landscape looks even better when the patio, walkways, driveway, lighting, and planting areas feel like they were designed as one space. That’s the kind of project we really enjoy building.

Hardscaping Built for the Way You Use Your Home

Living here on the Forgotten Coast, we spend a lot of time outside.

Backyards become gathering places. Patios become outdoor dining rooms. Fire pits become where everyone ends up after dinner. And your driveway and front entrance are some of the first things people notice when they pull up to your home.

Good hardscaping isn’t just about making a property look better. It’s about making the outdoor areas of your home more usable.

That’s why we approach hardscape projects a little differently.

Before we start talking about paver colors and patterns, we want to know how you actually plan to use the space.

Do you want a backyard where everyone can hang out around a fire pit? Are you trying to create more entertaining space? Does your driveway need additional parking? Are you building a new home and starting with a completely blank yard?

Once we understand that, we can start putting the pieces together.

Paver Patios, Driveways, Walkways & More

Pavers are one of our favorite materials to work with because there are so many ways to use them.

Our hardscaping projects can include paver patios, paver driveways, walkways, fire pit areas, outdoor gathering spaces, landscape borders, stepping-stone pathways, and other custom hardscape features.

But laying the pavers is only one part of the project.

A quality installation starts underneath them.

We pay attention to site preparation, grading, the base, compaction, drainage, elevations, and how the finished hardscape interacts with the surrounding landscape.

Those details aren’t necessarily the exciting part of the project—but they’re incredibly important to the finished result.

Creating the Whole Outdoor Space

This is probably where Joe’s Custom Lawn is a little different from hiring someone who strictly installs pavers.

We can look beyond the patio.

Maybe you’re envisioning a paver fire pit area surrounded by palms and lush landscaping.

Maybe it’s a new driveway with landscape beds, lighting, irrigation, and fresh sod.

Or maybe you’ve bought or built a home near the coast and the entire yard needs to be transformed.

Our team can bring those different pieces together.

We install landscaping, irrigation, landscape lighting, drainage, sod, artificial turf, and hardscaping, which means we’re able to think about how the whole property works—not just one portion of it.

And honestly, those complete transformations are some of our favorite projects.

There’s something pretty satisfying about starting with a blank or outdated property and watching the entire outdoor space come together.

Paver Patios & Fire Pit Areas

We’ve seen more homeowners wanting to turn their backyard into an actual extension of their home—and we’re all for it.

A paver patio can give you a defined space for grilling, eating outside, entertaining friends, or simply having somewhere to sit at the end of the day.

Add a fire pit, landscape lighting, palms, and surrounding plant material, and suddenly an unused part of the yard becomes one of the best spots on the property.

These spaces don’t have to be enormous, either.

Sometimes a simple, thoughtfully designed patio or fire pit area is all it takes to completely change how a backyard is used.

Paver Driveways & Front Entrances

Hardscaping can make just as big of a difference in the front of a home.

A new paver driveway or walkway can completely change a property’s curb appeal, especially when it’s incorporated into the surrounding landscape instead of treated as a separate feature.

We can coordinate the pavers with new sod, palms, landscape beds, irrigation, drainage, and outdoor lighting to create a finished front entrance that feels intentional from the street all the way to the front door.

Landscaping

Local Matters

Joe’s Custom Lawn has been serving this community since 2015, and this is home for us too.

We work on properties throughout Port St. Joe, Mexico Beach, WindMark Beach, Cape San Blas, Indian Pass, Simmons Bayou, Apalachicola, Eastpoint, and St. George Island.

That also means we’re familiar with some of the unique challenges that come with landscaping and hardscaping properties along the Forgotten Coast—from sandy soils and drainage to irrigation and choosing materials and plants that make sense for our environment.

We’re not interested in installing something that only looks good in a picture.

We want to build outdoor spaces that make sense for the property and for the people who are going to use them.

Thinking About a Hardscape Project?

If you’ve been searching for a hardscape contractor or paver installer in Port St. Joe, FL, we’d love to talk about what you have in mind.

Whether it’s a new paver driveway, backyard patio, walkway, fire pit area, or a complete outdoor transformation, our team can help you work through the design, materials, landscaping, and installation.

And if you’re not exactly sure what you want yet, that’s okay too.

Sometimes the best projects start with, “Here’s the space. We know we want to do something with it—what would you do?”

Those are fun conversations for us.
